In 2015-16 the San Jose Sharks celebrated their 25th anniversary season. It was also the best season in franchise history, including the team's first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup Final. To commemorate, we're taking a look back at the 25 most memorable, funny, and best moments of the 25th anniversary.
Having traded away longtime goalie Antti Niemi, the Sharks were in search of a new franchise goaltender. On June 30, 2015 the Sharks traded their 2016 1st round pick and prospect Sean Kuraly to the Boston Bruins for goaltender Martin Jones.
Jones, who had been traded to the Bruins from the Kings just a few days prior, played 34 career NHL games at that point. Jones was just coming off the 2015 World Championships, where he posted a 2-0 record with a 1.50 GAA and .921 save percentage while representing Canada.
