25th Year In Teal: Joe Thornton's 1,300th Point

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks

In 2015-16 the San Jose Sharks celebrated their 25th anniversary season. It was also the best season in franchise history, including the team's first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup Final. To commemorate, we're taking a look back at the 25 most memorable, funny, and best moments of the 25th anniversary.

Joe Thornton is one of the league's most prolific scorers, with the second most points among active players (only Jaromir Jagr has more).

On January 26 against the Colorado Avalanche, Thornton reached a lofty scoring milestone: 1300 points. Fittingly, it was an assist on Joe Pavelski's goal.

Only 33 players in the history of the National Hockey League have reached that total. Of those 33, only six are not in the Hall of Fame, and three are not yet eligible.
