In 2015-16 the San Jose Sharks celebrated their 25th anniversary season. It was also the best season in franchise history, including the team's first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup Final. To commemorate, we're taking a look back at the 25 most memorable, funny, and best moments of the 25th anniversary.
On May 1, a massive wildfire started in Northern Alberta near For McMurray. The fire caused the largest evacuation in Alberta history, and raged for almost two months.
One For McMurray resident, Billy Foley, is a massive Sharks fan. With only 30 minutes to evacuate, he chose to save his Sharks jersey collection.
Seeing this on Twitter, S.J. Sharkie immediately reached out, sending Billy Foley a game-worn S.J. Sharkie Heritage Jersey.
But that was only the beginning. Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson called the Foley family, inviting them out to Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the St. Louis Blues. There, the Foleys were treated like MVPs. They family was interviewed by the press - including a pre-game press conference - and was able to meet Sharks alumni such as Owen Nolan, as well as current Sharks players after the game.
It was a great, heartwarming experience, making it one of the top moments of the 25th anniversary season.
