Brief

A lot of expectations come along with being a team's first pick in the NHL Entry Draft and Thomas Chabot seems to be living up to all of them. Chabot not only impressed at the team's Development Camp in July and Rookie Tournament in September but came pretty close to making the Sens NHL roster this season. While he may not have earned a spot with the big club, he did leave training camp with an NHL contract. We spoke with Sens centre Kyle Turris back in October about Chabot's recent performances...

You can tell he really thinks the game very well. He sees plays develop, he knows where to be, he's a smart player. For his first camp and being a young kid I thought he did real well. I think he learned a lot and he's got lots to improve on but I think it was a great first step and he's going to have a long career.

Brief

Colin White has gotten off to a fantastic start to his collegiate career with Boston College and currently leads his team in scoring as a freshman. We spoke with Sens Assistant General Manager Randy Lee about White performance after a recent scouting trip to watch the prospect play...

A lot of times we tell guys 'don't worry about your numbers, worry about playing at the higher level and playing right'. He's doing all that plus he's contributing offensively which is a really good testament of where he's at. He's exceeding our expectations.

Andreas Englund - Team Sweden

  • Drafted: 40th overall in 2014
  • Position: Defence
  • Height: 6'3

Brief

Andreas Englund is set to take part in his second World Junior Championships this year. With having being drafted in 2014, Englund has been a part of the Sens organization longer than any of the other attendees and took part in his second Development Camp earlier this summer. Here's what Sens Assistant General Manager Randy Lee had to say about Englund's performance during that week...

We were really excited to see Andreas Englund. He's still young but he's a great, big body with a huge frame so he's got a lot of room to add extra mass as he develops. Great stick last night as well.

Filip Chlapik - Czech Republic

  • Drafted: 48th overall in 2015
  • Position: Centre

Brief

Filip Chlapik was recently a member of the prospect team that the Senators sent to the annual Rookie Tournament that takes place in London, ON. Here's what Sens AGM Randy Lee had to say about Chlapik's performance back in September...

Good skill set, still has to work on his skating but we know that he's sort of learning in terms of training so we see a lot of upside with this guy. We can really see his vision and his offensive upside so it was encouraging from what we saw from Filip.

Christian Jaros - Team Slovakia

  • Drafted: 139th overall in 2015
  • Position: Defence
  • Height: 6'3

After being selected by the Senators in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Christian Jaros reported to the team's Development Camp in Ottawa just a few days later. Jaros left quite an impression with the Sens management as was captured by Sens TV...
