Spezza flying solo

by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
First Dany Heatley was lost for up to six weeks after he suffered a shoulder injury a week ago against the Detroit Red Wings, and now captain Daniel Alfredsson will sit out tonight’s against the Tampa Bay Lightning (7 p.m., no local TV, The TEAM 1200 Radio) with a sore hip flexor.

The line juggling continues for head coach John Paddock, as he decides who to put on either side of centre Jason Spezza.

Listen to audio (mp3 file) from Paddock from this morning’s news conference, as well as Alfredsson’s comments (mp3 file) on missing tonight’s game. Fisher (mp3 file) adds his thoughts on Alfredsson's absence.

With the team captain out of the line-up, rookie Cody Bass gets the call. Ray Emery gets the start in goal for the Senators, but Paddock did not announce who would lead off tomorrow in Philadelphia.
