The Sens had a player steal the show at day one of the World Championships, though it may not have been who you expected it to be.
Stephane Da Costa - Da Costa joined the French national side after the Binghamton Senators were eliminated from AHL playoff contention and was an impact player right away. He scored two power play goals for France which was enough to push the game into OT and ultimately a shootout. He finished the game an even player with a minor penalty and five shots on goal. France takes on Italy in their second game of the tournament on Sunday at 5:45 AM (ET).
Kyle Turris - Turris was held off the point sheet for Team Canada but finished the game a plus-1 and had three shots on goal. He was stopped on the first shootout attempt of the game. He'll look to get Canada back in the win column on Saturday when they take on Slovakia at 1:45 PM (ET).
