We're in 'every game is a must-win' territory for the Sens and they'll be in for a test tonight when they host the Washington Capitals, the hottest team in the NHL.
Now, the Sens aren't slouches themselves having won their last three, but the Caps have been playing excellent hockey of late, led by Alexander Ovechkin. Shocking, I know.
With the Sens having won their last three games, they'll be keeping the lineup that found success against the Hurricanes on Tuesday night. Craig Anderson will start once again for the Sens. He was in goal when they defeated the Caps earlier this season by a 3-2 margin.
Here's how Ottawa will line up to start...
Michalek - Turris - Alfredsson
Conacher - Zibanejad - Silfverberg
Latendresse - Smith - Neil
Greening - Pageau - Condra
Phillips - Methot
Gryba - Cowen
Wiercioch - Gonchar
Washington's lineup looks considerably different from how it did during their last trip to Ottawa, but the Southeast Division leaders are rolling currently. They have gotten a few players back since their last trip to the Canadian capital, lost a few others along the way, but seem to have found a groove. As the old adage goes: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Here's how they will look to start...
Johansson - Backstrom - Ovechkin
Erat - Ribeiro - Brouwer
Chimera - Perreault - Fehr
Volpatti - Beagle - Hendricks
Alzner - Green
Erskine - Carlson
Hillen - Oleksy
The Sens are 2-2-1 all-time against the Capitals under Paul MacLean.
