The Ottawa Senators have drafted right winger Tyler Boucher with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Boucher played five games with the USNTDP in the USHL this past year, scoring three goals and adding two assists alongside 13 penalty minutes.
"We're very happy to make the selection of Tyler Boucher," Sens general manager Pierre Dorion said. "For us, he's a power forward. He's a guy with great speed and uses his body. One of the things he does well is his ability to finish and score goals from outside the dots but also close to the net and inside the paint."
Additionally, he suited up in a pair of games for the U17 program and played 12 times for the U18 program scoring six goals and 11 points.
In 2019-20, Boucher won a silver medal at the U17 World Championships and is committed to Boston University for the 2021-22 season.
"It's a great organization," Boucher said of joining the Sens. "I think it's a great spot. They have great fans and playing hockey in Canada is something that is really cool and really special and that's something I haven't got to experience and is something I am really looking forward to."
Boucher's dad is former NHL goaltender Brian Boucher, who played 328 NHL games, winning 120 times.
"I had the opportunity to watch three of his games, obviously on video this year, and I was thoroughly impressed," Dorion said. "He never took a shift off and was always moving his feet and was always involved. What impressed me the most was that when he had the puck you saw that he had a knack to go to the net and try and score."
Boucher became the first player in Senators history to be taken 10th overall.
"My game fits right into the NHL," Boucher said. "Watching the playoffs, a lot of teams have skill but I think the thing they are missing maybe is that hard, heavy-nose game. I think my game fits right into that playoff hockey style and I think it's going to translate well."

There's no player more physical in the draft class. Sometimes, it's a small nudge, an extra cross-check, or a smart play to cut off the hands. There's also plenty of bone-crushing hits along the boards. His physical game is insane. Perfectly balancing scoring and supporting positioning, he's always a passing option. He's also a crafty shooter, shooting under defenders' sticks or changing the angle.
