OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has traded defenceman Chris Wideman to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. The pick was previously acquired by Edmonton from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenceman Jakub Jerabek on Oct. 1.

Wideman, 28, has recorded five points (two goals, three assists) and 12 penalty minutes while skating in 19 of the Senators' 22 games in 2018-19. In 175 career National Hockey League games, all of which have occurred with Ottawa, Wideman has registered 43 points (16 goals, 27 assists), 98 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of plus-seven.
A St. Louis native, Wideman was the Senators fourth-round selection (100th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
