Sabourin signed

OTTAWA - The
Ottawa Senators
announced today that the team has signed forward Scott Sabourin to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2021-22 season. The contract carries an annual value of $700,000 in the National Hockey League and $200,000 in the American Hockey League.

"Scott is a player and person with whom the organization has familiarity," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "He plays hard, has a physical presence, is respected on the ice and maintains strong leadership qualities. We'll look to him to help guide our younger players and prospects."
Sabourin, 29, returns to the Senators after he spent the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign in Ottawa where he tallied six points (two goals, four assists) and 33 penalty minutes over 35 regular-season games. He was initially invited to the team's 2019 training camp on a professional tryout agreement before signing a one-year, two-way contract with the club on Sept. 27, 2019.
An Orleans, Ont., native, Sabourin spent time with both the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies and the parent Maple Leafs last season and enters the 2021-22 campaign having appeared in 314 career AHL games with Manchester, Iowa, Ontario, San Diego, Stockton and Toronto over which he has recorded 79 points (39 goals, 40 assists) and 668 penalty minutes. In 36 career NHL games with Ottawa and Toronto, Sabourin has posted six points (two goals, four assists) and 38 penalty minutes.
