Carcone, aged 23, was acquired by the Senators from the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1 as part of a six-player trade which also saw Ottawa receive defenceman Nikita Zaitsev and forward Connor Brown.
A native of Ajax, Ont., Carcone split his third professional season between the AHL's Utica Comets (the Vancouver Canucks' primary affiliate) and the Toronto Marlies in 2018-19. He established new professional career highs in goals (20), assists (24) and points (44) over 62 regular-season contests and earned a career-high 10 post-season points (six goals, four assists) over 13 playoff games with the Marlies.
Undrafted, Carcone was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by Vancouver on July 15, 2016, and was traded to by the Canucks to Toronto in exchange for Josh Leivo on Dec. 3, 2018. He has registered 89 points (40 goals, 49 assists) and 147 penalty minutes over the first 191 games of his professional career with Utica and Toronto.
