by Sens Communications @Media_Sens / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has signed forward Brendan Woods to a professional tryout agreement with an invitation to the team's training camp, which begins on Thursday.

A native of Humboldt, Sask., Woods, 25, has played in seven career National Hockey League games, all with the Carolina Hurricanes. In 2016-17, injuries limited him to just 24 games with the Hurricanes American Hockey League affilate, the Charlotte Checkers, scoring three goals and earning three assists while adding 41 penalty minutes.

Ottawa opens its annual training camp on Thursday at Canadian Tire Centre. Fans can have their first look at the this year's team during Ottawa Senators Fan Fest, presented by Canadian Tire, which takes place on Sunday, Sept. 17.
