OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has signed defenceman Matt Bartkowski to a professional tryout contract.

Bartkowski, 28, played in 80 games last season for the Vancouver Canucks, scoring six goals and earning 12 assists for 18 points, while adding 50 penalty minutes. Bartkowski will wear number 12 when he attends Senators training camp, which begins on Sept. 22 in Ottawa.
Originally drafted by the Florida Panthers with their seventh-round pick (190th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft, Bartkowski has played in 211 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins and the Canucks, recording 42 points (six goals, 36 assists) and 127 penalty minutes.
