OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today a new partnership with ridesharing company Uber Canada (@Uber_Canada). This partnership designates Uber as the official ridesharing partner of the Ottawa Senators and is another step by the organization to improve the ease and convenience of travel to and from Canadian Tire Centre.
Beginning this evening, fans that use Uber will now have a designated pickup and drop-off area near the main entrance (Gate 1) of Canadian Tire Center on Frank Finnigan Way. Those waiting in the arena will now have the ability to track their drivers' arrival to the Canadian Tire Center ride zone in their Uber app.
In addition to the added convenience of Uber as a travel option, the partnership will also include exclusive ticket and ride promotions throughout the season for Senators fans who use the Uber app.
"Uber brings a new, user-friendly experience that provides our fans with another safe and trusted alternative for travel to and from games, concerts and events at Canadian Tire Centre," said Mark Bonneau, senior vice-president, corporate strategy and sales. "It is an exciting partnership with a dynamic, innovative company. Outside of the obvious travel benefits, our fans will also have the chance to enjoy special exclusive and unique promotions during the season by using the Uber app."
"Uber makes it easier for people around the world to connect to what they care about and now we're excited to give that connection to Ottawa Senators fans," said Sheldon McCormick, general manager of Uber Ontario. "We're thrilled to be partnering with the Ottawa Senators to make game day transportation more seamless and help fans celebrate the team with exciting promotions throughout the season."
