OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has agreed to terms with centre Aaron Luchuk on a three-year entry-level contract.

Luchuk, 20, is in the midst of his fourth full major junior hockey season after being traded from the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires to the Barrie Colts on Dec. 14. Luchuk has recorded five points (three goals, two assists) over his first three games with the Colts after earning 51 points (28 goals, 23 assists) over his first 30 contests of the 2017-18 campaign with the Spitfires.

"Aaron is a talented and proven goal scorer who plays a strong two-way game. He's shown the ability to elevate his play in big games, as demonstrated by his play in last year's memorial cup, said Senators assistant general manager Randy Lee. "He has high character, excellent hockey sense and is trusted by his coaches in critical times of the game. Aaron is a player we have had our eye on for some time and we are very happy to welcome him into the Senators organization."

A native of Kingston, Ont., Luchuk established new major junior career highs in goals (21), assists (32) and points (60), while appearing in each of Windsor's 68 games in 2016-17. Having only missed one regular-season game for which he's been eligible over four-plus seasons of his major junior hockey, Luchuk, who ranks second among OHL players in scoring this season, has registered 192 points (96 goals, 96 assists) over 239 career games with Windsor and Barrie.
