Senators acquire forward Alex Burrows from Vancouver

OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators (@Senators) general manager Pierre Dorion announced today that the club has acquired forward Alex Burrows from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Jonathan Dahlen.

Burrows, 35, has scored nine goals and added 11 assists for 20 points while recording 53 penalty minutes in 55 games this season. The 6-1, 197-pound native of Pincourt, Que., has spent his entire National Hockey League career with Vancouver, scoring 193 goals and adding 191 assists in 822 career games.

Signed as an undrafted free agent, Burrows has played in 70 career playoff games, scoring 19 goals and adding 15 assists for 34 points.

Dahlen, 19, was Ottawa's second-round selection (42nd overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Burrows is expected to travel to Ottawa to join the team on Wednesday.
