We caught up with Sens rookie Shane Prince to get some quick pre-game thoughts ahead of tonight's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
On scoring his first (and second) NHL goals against Colorado:
Being my first career goal and being able to get another one...I had a really good game. Probably my best game. Things were just clicking so I guess it adds a little more excitement to this game but every team in this league is good and every night is a different night.
His thoughts on his rookie season so far:
This being my first year, obviously you've got to earn your opportunities. It's always a battle your first year I've noticed, even in the AHL. My first year there was a battle to earn opportunities. I'm grateful for everything I've gotten this year and I think I've done well and earned everything I've gotten. I'm just trying to build off that and grow as a player and a person and establish myself as an everyday NHLer.
On the advantages of playing a back-to-back after last night's loss in Detroit:
Yeah I think it's better coming off a loss. You get a chance to redeem yourself right away instead of sitting around for a day or two and thinking about it, waiting to get the next opportunity. So definitely better coming off a game that we didn't like too much last night and we're able to try and redeem ourselves tonight.
His thoughts on wearing the heritage jerseys tonight for Throwback Thursday:
I kind of lose track of the days with our schedule, it's either a game day or not and you're not really focused on what day it is but when you come into the room and you see those pants up it clicks in that it's Thursday. I personally love the jerseys so it's always fun to play in them. I think we look good and it looks even better if we get a win.
