We caught up with Sens forward Shane Prince to get some quick pre-game thoughts ahead of tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
On the confidence he gained after scoring his first NHL goal:
Personally, it just starts to weigh on you going a while without scoring and you start to press a little but once you get that first one it's a weight off your shoulders. You get more confidence and a little looser. Our line has been playing really well, getting chances and it's good to be able to contribute offensively.
On "gripping his stick" a little too tight prior to scoring:
You try to avoid those things, thinking about it too much and gripping your stick but after a while you can only avoid it so much. You start to feel the pressure from a lot of different areas. Once you get that first one it's a weight off your back and you can get going from there.
On hosting the Flyers for the second consecutive home game:
They've won a couple of big games since against good teams and every team is good in this league so you can never take anyone lightly. We're back at home which is nice so it'd be huge to get a win here tonight.
On how they can support Craig Anderson who's making his 8th straight start:
I think for a while we were giving up a lot of shots and that's not what we wanted. In the Arizona game we played really well and were in the offensive zone for a lot of the game and didn't give up too many shots. When you've got a goalie starting this many games in a row you want to try and limit his work. I think we need to go out there tonight, play in the offensive zone and take a little bit of the weight off him by scoring some goals.
