We caught up with Sens rookie Max McCormick after today's morning skates to get some quick pre-game thoughts before tonight's home game against the Calgary Flames.
On playing in hist first NHL game:
It was awesome. To step out on the ice for my first game was a dream come true. I got the first one out of the way now so I want to keep building off that and continue to play my game tonight.
On now knowing what to expect for NHL Game #2:
I think even in my first game I felt more and more comfortable. I was gaining more confidence as the game went on so I want to continue to build off that.
On skating on a line with Chris Neil:
He brings energy to the ice every single night. He brings his best effort every night and he plays the game the right way with all the little details. He's definitely a guy I can watch and follow so I'm excited to play with him and Smitty tonight.
On what the coach's have been asking of him:
They just want me to continue to play my game and not try to do too much. Get in on the forecheck, be hard over puck, get puck to the net and be responsible in the defensive zone.
On being an agitator at the NHL level as a rookie:
Absolutely. That's what I'm here to do and that's part of my game so I can't be intimidated out there. I've got to play my game every night.
