Sens centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau shares a few thoughts after today's morning skate and prior to squaring off against the Nashville Predators tonight.
On preparing for tonight's game against the Predators:
We know it's going to be a physical game, that's for sure. A game with a lot of energy and a lot of speed. We know that they're going to come out hard and that they've got a really good team. For us, we don't change anything. We really want to win a game in front of our fans. We've been pretty good on the road but we want to play with some urgency to win the game tonight.
On the improvements to the penalty kill early in the season:
Well we had a good base with Mark Reeds last year and he helped us a lot with all the little details. I think we made a few changes on the movement and a few small details here and there but basically I think we all just take pride to block shots and the goalies are doing a really good job too. I think we just take pride and work as hard as we can to kill the penalty to give us a chance to get back to even strength.
On preparing to block shots against Nashville and Shea Weber:
I think that's in the heads of everyone. Even at even strength you've got to block some shots. I think while we're on the penalty kill they've got a better situation to take one-timers and we know Shea Weber has a really good shot so that's for sure in our minds. But it's our job and we've got to get the job done.
On the team's improvement on face-offs this season:
We practice a lot after every practice and morning skate. All the centres take a lot of draws and we help each other and give little tips to each other so we can get better. We have help from the coaches too and we just try and apply those tips.
