We sat down with Sens winger Alex Chiasson after the morning skate for a quick chat as the team prepares to host the Anaheim Ducks tonight...
On facing the Ducks tonight:
Knowing where they're at in the standings and how well they've done lately in the past month or two, it's going to be a good challenge for us. I think we've been playing good hockey lately we just haven't really had bounces go our way and things like that. They've got a lot of skill and some big guys as well as a lot of guys I played against from my time when I was in Dallas in the playoffs. These guys are experienced, they've won a lot lately in the playoffs and they're a successful group so it'll be a good challenge for us.
On getting accustomed to the grind of the latter part of the regular season:
It's starts in the summer and I put a lot of time into that. At this point of the season everyone has little injuries and a lot of things just bugging guys so it's about trying to stay as fresh as you can and getting the treatment that you need whether it's massage or treatment or cold tub or hot tub...whatever you need to get done to get ready. You've got to find a way. These are the grind days and I think mentally too, those games that you've got to focus a little more because maybe your body is not these as much as it was earlier in the season.
On putting more pucks on goal:
I think we're trying to funnel more pucks to the net and create opportunities off that. Sometimes we're trying for the extra play and more cute passes but now teams are tight defensively and we're just trying to get pucks there and you never know what can happen.
