OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the team will host its 10th annual Minor Hockey Week tribute to players, coaches, officials and volunteers, from Sunday, Nov. 13, to Saturday, Nov. 19.
Created in partnership with Scotiabank and the two minor hockey governing bodies in the National Capital Region - Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) and Hockey Outaouais - Minor Hockey Week presented by Scotiabank will feature programs and initiatives that highlight teams, associations, coaches, players and volunteers in a salute to the region's minor hockey communities.
Special minor hockey initiatives and ticket promotions at all Senators home games
Each Senators home game during Minor Hockey Week (Nov. 13 vs. Minnesota Wild, Nov 17 vs. Nashville Predators and Nov. 19 vs. Florida Panthers) will feature local minor hockey players and officials joining the Senators and the night's league officials for the national anthems on the team's blue line. Select games will also feature initiation-aged minor hockey players taking part in the Tim Hortons Timbit Challenge during the first intermission.
Minor hockey teams and players are invited to attend Senators home games during Scotiabank Minor Hockey Week with tickets starting as low as $20 for select games. Fans can purchase discounted tickets by visiting www.ottawasenators.com/MHWEEK and entering the promo code: MHWEEK.
Minor hockey players attending Senators home games are encouraged to wear their minor hockey jersey to receive a ballot upon entering Canadian Tire Centre for exclusive prizes throughout the game including the chance to win autographed items and movies for a year courtesy of Scotiabank and the Senators.
Senators Junior Skills Challenge finals presented by Canadian Tire
Monday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Canadian Tire Centre
Throughout the season, more than 50 minor hockey teams (featuring more than 700 players) have competed in the Senators Junior Skills Challenge and submitted their scoresheets for tabulation. The top participants from each participating team were invited to compete in one of the regional finals held between Nov. 8 and Nov. 10 for the chance to win the opportunity to move on to the Senators Jr. Skills Challenge finals at Canadian Tire Centre. The top three performers in each category along with two goaltenders will be recognized with the opportunity to compete in Sens Skills presented by Sport Chek alongside the Senators on Dec. 30.
Senators Alumni Defencemen Clinic featuring Chris Phillips
Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Canadian Tire Centre (defencemen only)
Senators Alumni clinics return to Canadian Tire Centre during Minor Hockey week and will begin with former Senators defenceman Chris Phillips, who will share insight on defensive strategy and help lead defence-related drills to provide local minor hockey players with instruction on how to improve their positional play.
Senators Alumni Forwards Clinic featuring Shaun Van Allen
Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Canadian Tire Centre (forwards only)
This position-specific clinic will feature former Senators forward Shaun Van Allen, who will share insight on offensive strategy and lead forward-related drills to provide local minor hockey players with instruction on how to improve their positional play.

14th Annual Tim Hortons Coaches Clinic
Saturday, Nov. 19, from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Canadian Tire Centre
The Senators conclude Minor Hockey Week presented by Scotiabank with the 14th annual Tim Hortons Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Canadian Tire Centre. Held free of charge for all classifications of coaches, the clinic will feature an introductory welcome by Senators staff (at 7:45 a.m.), followed by individual demonstration sessions related to developing defencemen, shrink the rink, and creating offense all led by prominent hockey instructors from Hockey Eastern Ontario and goaltending with Senators goaltending coach Pierre Groulx (9:30 a.m.). Each participant will receive a Tim Hortons Coaches Clinic handbook containing tips regarding on-ice drills and will also be able to watch the Senators and Panthers morning skates (subject to change) following the instructional sessions.
