It's looking like we'll have another split game for the goaltenders after Craig Anderson and Danny Taylor combined for a 6-2 win last night in Ottawa. Mike Condon will get the start and will be relieved by either Andrew Hammond or Marcus Hogberg for the second half of tonight's contest. The coach still wasn't totally sure who will replace Condon but hinted it could likely be Hammond, who participated in the team's morning skate at Canadian Tire Centre earlier today.

Line-up

As mentioned above, the Sens skated at CTC this morning and according to Brent Wallace of TSN here's a look at how the forwards were used during line rushes...

"We're expecting a game where they will be at their best and our players will have to respond to that. I think it's a great opportunity for a lot of the young guys to fight through it and see who has the character to do so," said Boucher about his young line-up for tonight. "I think it's good to play against this team because they are very fast and I believe they will have a lot of their fast players playing tonight. It's going to be a very aggressive game and that's the best way to see which guys are able to manage that and which guys are not."

Injuries provide opportunity for Brown

It's no secret; the Sens are banged up down the middle. With Derick Brassard still recovering from off-season shoulder surgery and now Colin White on the shelf with a broken wrist, Ottawa is in the market for some help at centre to start the season. Enter 2016 first round pick Logan Brown who will get his first chance to make a case during the pre-season.
"I think I'm ready. I worked really hard this summer and I came here to show them that I'm ready," Brown said after the team's skate in Ottawa on Tuesday. "There are some opportunities with all the injuries so I'm here to show them that it's sooner than later and I can be there on opening night."

After struggling with injuries last season, Brown spent his summer getting healthy and making positive gains in the gym. Something that he hopes will translate into success against the bigger/stronger/faster professional players that populate the NHL.
"I gained about 10-12 pounds this summer so on the ice I'm faster and I feel like I got my hands and patience with the puck back," the 19-year old centre recounted about his off-season training. "Last year was tough with all the injuries but I was on the ice a lot this summer to get my game back. I'm stronger off the ice, stronger on the ice and have more confidence in the corners against these big NHL players.
