The 2018-19 season will open with 22 players who have a combined 5,935 games of NHL experience. The opening night roster also includes two players with NHL experience who are new to Ottawa (Dylan DeMelo, Chris Tierney,) and four players who will qualify as NHL rookies this season: Alex Formenton, Max Lajoie, Brady Tkachuk and Colin White.
The Senators will host their annual red-carpet entry into Canadian Tire Centre on opening night. The red carpet will be on the plaza where fans are invited to welcome the entire roster, coaching staff and team management, who are expected to enter the arena starting at 4:30 p.m.
