Ottawa Senators acquire centre Matt Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has acquired National Hockey League All-Star, Canadian Olympic, World Senior, World under-18 and World Cup champion, Matt Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Kyle Turris, Andrew Hammond, Shane Bowers, Ottawa's first-round draft pick in 2018 and a third-round draft choice in 2019.

 

The 26-year-old centre has recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists), in 14 games for the Avalanche this season. The two-time NHL all-star has scored 178 goals and 250 assists for 426 points in 586 career NHL games.

Colorado's first-round selection (third overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft, the 5-11, 195-pound native of Haliburton, Ont., has won gold medals with Team Canada at the Olympics (2014), the World Cup of Hockey (2016), two world championships (2015, 2016) and one Under-18 world championship (2008).
