Ottawa gearing up for playoffs

by Chris Lund / Ottawa Senators

It's the most wonderful time of the year around these parts. Playoff time! The sun is out and shining, the birds are getting ready to sing and the hockey we all sit and twiddle our thumbs in anticipation of is about to get underway.

The City of Ottawa is in the process of being painted red ahead of the Sens series with the Montreal Canadiens, which kicks off later this week. The Mayor of Ottawa, Jim Watson, held a playoff rally outside City Hall earlier today where a Senators flag was raised over the city ahead of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Mayor also proclaimed Sens Army United in Red days to rally the town behind the team. For those of you in Ottawa, keep an eye out for the United in Red truck the Mayor is seated in above. It'll be making stops all around town and may have some Sens surprises for fans all over.
