We shoot the breeze with Curtis Lazar about The Bachelor, Stone Cold Steve Austin Day and more on our first attempt at going Off Topic...
Can't listen to the audio right now? Here are a few of the many highlights...
On shows he loves as much as Erik Karlsson loves The Bachelor:
Honestly, I'm probably right up there with The Bachelor and The Bachelorette as well. I've always loved those shows and I'm a soft guy to begin with. I follow it but I didn't air it out as much as Erik did and get the publicity.
Teammates he think would be great as the next Bachelor:
I kind of want to give that a go (laughs) but it'd be tough work into the hockey schedule. I think Marc Methot would be pretty good for some TV. I see Wides and how he tries to be smooth with the ladies...he'd probably have them going for him so that'd be worthwhile for his time. Those are my two candidates.
This Saturday will be his 1-year "burger-versary". On how many burgers has he eaten in the past year:
Things got pretty hectic right after I ate it. I'd show up to restaurants and people would order me burgers just as a joke so that got a little out of hand. I like burgers so if you think in a calendar year...(crunches numbers in his head)...I don't know. It depends. Sometimes if I want 2 burgers in a sitting...(continues to work the numbers)...I'd say 50?
On what March 16th (aka Stone Cold Steve Austin Day) means to him:
I actually never was a wrestling fan growing up and March 16th is also my sister's birthday so that's the month important thing for me today.
His memories of March Break:
It was a little different in B.C. I can't even remember if I got one week or two weeks or even what the deal here is. We'd take the odd family vacation, just try to lay low and maybe some sports camps. I played a lot of sports growing up so soccer was just kind of starting up but I can't really pin point anything. I have memories but I can't remember what I did during March Break.
