OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has signed forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau to a two-year, one-way, contract extension that will run through the end of the 2016-17 National Hockey League season. The average annual value of the contract is $900,000 ($700,000 and $1.1M).
Pageau, 22, split the 2014-15 season between Ottawa and the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. He was recalled to Ottawa on two occasions and remained with the parent club following his second recall on Feb. 17. Pageau played in a career-high 50 games, while establishing new NHL career highs in goals (10), assists (nine) and points (19) last season.
Drafted by the Senators in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Pageau has recorded 25 points (14 goals, 11 assists) and 21 penalty minutes over 87 NHL contests. The Ottawa native has also appeared in 142 career AHL games, all of which have occurred with the B-Sens, registering 94 points (38 goals, 56 assists) and 83 penalty minutes.
