by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) are reminding fans to plan ahead and to give themselves extra travel time for their visit to Canadian Tire Centre in advance of Ottawa’s 7 p.m. game on Saturday, Oct. 24, when the team hosts the Arizona Coyotes.

Highway 417 will be closed in both directions starting on Friday, Oct. 23, at 11 p.m. until Sunday, Oct. 25, at 11 p.m. between Rochester St. and Catherine St., while the Ministry of Transportation Ontario replaces the Kent St. Bridge. With this construction project, significant traffic delays are expected on Highway 417.

Westbound detour on the way to Canadian Tire Centre:

Motorists exit Highway 417 at Catherine St., proceed west down Catherine St. and then access the 417 via the on-ramp at Raymond St. The Lyon St. on-ramp will also remain open during this weekend closure.

Eastbound detour on the way home from Canadian Tire Centre:

Motorists must exit Highway 417 at Rochester St., proceed east on Orangeville St. to Booth St., south on Booth St. to Carling Ave., east on Carling Ave. to Bronson Ave., then south on Bronson Ave. to Riverside Dr. Motorists will then travel north on Riverside Dr. to the eastbound Highway 417 on-ramp, located before the Vanier Parkway Bridge.

One alternative for fans will be to take public transport. OC Transpo has dedicated bus service direct to Canadian Tire Centre. For information on public transportation, please visit
