News Release: Senators recall forward Philip Varone from Binghamton (AHL)

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has recalled forward Philip Varone from its American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

A native of Vaughan, Ont., Varone was acquired by the Senators on Feb. 27 along with forward Jason Akeson, defenceman Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick from the Buffalo Sabres. Since his acquisition, he has recorded five goals and 18 points in 17 games with the B-Sens.

Varone, 25, has played in 42 career National Hockey League games, all with Buffalo, recording five goals and nine points.

Varone will wear number 22 for Ottawa. The Senators complete their season later today with a 12:30 p.m. game in Boston.
