OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has re-signed forward Mike Hoffman to a one-year, two-way contract.
Hoffman, 24, split the 2013-14 season between Ottawa and the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. He was recalled to Ottawa on two occasions, and remained with the parent club following his second recall of the season on Feb. 24.
The B-Sens leading scorer with a professional career high 67 points (30 goals, 37 assists) in only 51 AHL contests this past season, Hoffman ranked second among all AHL players in both goals and points upon his second and final recall in late February.
A native of Kitchener, Ont., Hoffman established a new NHL regular-season high in skating in 25 games for Ottawa in 2013-14 while registering the first six points (three goals, three assists) of his NHL career. He recorded his first multi-point contest in the NHL when he scored his first NHL goal and also earned his first assist in a 5-3 Senators win at Winnipeg on March 8.
Upon season’s end, Hoffman was named to the AHL All-Star First Team as voted by league coaches, players and media.
