OTTAWA – On Friday, July 3, the Ottawa Senators (@Senators) Development Camp will travel to the Gatineau Hills as the club’s prospects will join 30 fans to participate in a tag team Spartan Sprint at Edelweiss Valley.
Fans participating in the team building activity submitted a video as part of the Senators’ #SensBurpee contest for a chance to be partnered with a Senators prospect to compete in the special Spartan Sprint.
Beginning at 1 p.m., fans will be put through their paces by Spartan Race staff, as they set out to conquer nearly seven kilometers of signature Spartan obstacles featuring mud, fire, high walls and barbed wire. Senators prospects will then take to the course at 2:30 p.m. to challenge each other to complete the same obstacles in what might potentially be record-setting time.
The tag team Spartan Sprint is aimed at developing endurance, physical and mental toughness and camaraderie among the organization’s prospects.
The players will then be available to meet race participants, greet the public, sign autographs and pose for pictures for 20 minutes beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Admission to Edelweiss Valley is free for fans; however, the facility will be charging $10 for parking with 50 per cent of the proceeds being donated to the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
Edelweiss Valley is located at 538 Chemin Edelweiss, Wakefield, Que.
