OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that one of the most successful fan engagement programs on the team’s annual promotional calendar, the Hometown Tour series presented by Canadian Tire, will return to eastern Ontario and western Quebec beginning on Monday, Aug. 22.
Held in partnership with CTV Ottawa, TSN 1200 radio, the Egg Farmers of Ontario, Gay Lea Foods, Canadian Tire and RV Canada, the Hometown Tour will feature two Senators players per location, Bell Media personalities, autograph sessions, interactive games, prizing opportunities and much more at each of the 12 stops.
The caravan makes its way to Canadian Tire locations in Leitrim and Ottawa (Carlington), Ont., on Aug. 22, Buckingham and Aylmer, Que., on Aug. 23, Hawkesbury and Rockland, Ont., on Aug. 24, Arnprior and Pembroke, Ont., on Aug. 29, Morrisburg and Brockville, Ont., on Aug. 30, before wrapping up with stops in Smiths Falls and Kanata, Ont., on Aug. 31.
Each stop of the 2016 Senators Hometown Tour will occur at a local Canadian Tire location. For further details on the specific location and timing of each stop and for information on which Senators players will be in attendance, please click here. The team will reveal which players will participate in the various stops of the tour via their website and social media channels in advance of the visits.
On each of the six days of the Hometown Tour, both CTV Ottawa News at 6 and TSN 1200 radio will feature live interviews from the various locations, highlighting the players and fans in attendance. Egg Farmers of Ontario will be on site for the final four stops of the tour, providing fans with the latest installment of their ‘egg-citing’ Senators recipe cards and a chance to win tickets to Senators games by sharing photos taken at their booth, while Gay Lea Foods will be on-site the second week of the tour with interactive games and prizes for fans in attendance.
In an effort to best serve those fans in each market, the Senators will continue to institute a wristband policy for the autograph sessions at each tour stop. Wristbands, in limited quantity, will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis at the local Canadian Tire store’s customer service desk on the day of the tour stop beginning at 8 a.m. Wristbands for the autograph sessions are subject to availability.
A new addition to the tour for 2016, the Senators will be hosting a contest to find six “Hometown Heroes”, citizens who made great contributions to their local community. Hosted at http://www.ottawasenators.com/hometownhero, fans will have the opportunity to nominate a worthy local citizen for this honour. Six winners will be recognized with a pair of tickets to a Senators pre-season game, in-game recognition for the fans at Canadian Tire Centre and will also receive the opportunity to meet the Senators players participating on the tour. Individuals can nominate a hero in their Hometown by clicking here.
Each tour stop will feature a chance to win prizes, including tickets to Senators’ home games throughout the 2016-17 season. Fans are encouraged to monitor the team’s social platforms for additional opportunities to win prizes on the day of the respective tour stop and for information on each day’s visit.
