OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today plans for their 2015-16 home opener on Sunday, Oct. 11, when the team hosts the Montreal Canadiens at Canadian Tire Centre (@CdnTireCtr). Each fan in attendance at Sunday’s home opener will receive a limited-edition Senators scarf courtesy of Scotiabank, the team’s opening night presenting sponsor.
Once again this year, fans are encouraged to make their way to the Red Zone, which is located at the Gate 1 entrance of Canadian Tire Centre, when it opens at 3:30 p.m. to welcome the players as they walk the red carpet prior to entering the arena for Sunday evening’s game. The players will be joined by members of the team’s management and executive staff, coaches, Spartacat and Senators broadcast personalities. Limited seating will also be available as the team will install temporary bleachers along the red carpet for the first time this season.
Additional Red Zone activities (Canadian Tire Centre’s Gate 1)
The Molson Canadian Hockey House will open in conjunction with the Red Zone at 3:30 p.m. Canadian Tire and its CT Play Mobile will distribute merchandise and prizing alongside an interactive games activation while Coca-Cola’s Hug Machine will see fans’ hugs (of its vending machine) rewarded with a Senators collectable Coca-Cola can. Bell (which will launch its recently renovated Bell Fan Zone locker room) and Dare (which will offer sample items) are additional proud partners of the Senators which will be present on Sunday. The Red Zone will also feature live entertainment (a DJ and LED screen), balloonists and face painters.
Grand opening – Club Bell
Sunday’s home opener against the Canadiens will also mark the official opening of Canadian Tire Centre’s new all-inclusive fan experience, Club Bell. With its special one-way valet, custom seating and an all-new menu, Club Bell is expected to completely transform Ottawa’s definition of the premium fan experience and will be one of Ottawa’s prime locations for business networking.
Club Bell’s all-inclusive environment is composed of three kinds of seating options: Victory suites, Loge seats and Luxe seats, all of which offer a unique experience for fans. The food and beverage options will be unlike any offered at Canadian Tire Centre, prepared by Aramark’s top chefs in new state-of the-art kitchens.
The official opening of Club Bell will see Canadian Tire Centre’s 100 level transform into a horseshoe style concourse. Fans without ticketed access to Club Bell will not be able to traverse the west end of the venue on the 100 level.
McDonald’s Fan Zone
The Senators have once again partnered with McDonald’s, the team’s official hamburger, to launch the McDonald’s Fan Zone and related ticketing option. While McDonald’s Fan Zone signage will debut at Sunday’s home opener, ticket deals will commence when the Senators host the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 22. Fans will be able to buy a game package for as low as $35 which will include a game ticket and a coupon for a free McDonald’s Big Mac Extra Value Meal. The McDonald’s Fan Zone will include sections 301 to 303 in addition to 327 and 328 in the east end of Canadian Tire Centre. In addition, fans can also continue to look forward to the “Big Mac Minute” at each home game.
Food and beverage enhancements
The highlights of some off-season food and beverage changes include upgrades for Senators partners, Tim Hortons (now at 14 different locations throughout Canadian Tire Centre), Pizza Pizza and Smoke’s Burritorie. The team also recently launched the Farm Boy Fresh Zone as part of the Senators partnership with the area’s premier fresh food provider.
Ottawa Senators Foundation 50/50 Raffle
The Ottawa Senators Foundation 50/50 lottery will start at $10,000 on Sunday and is expected to increase significantly as the game unfolds. Last season, the Ottawa Senators Foundation set a team record when it awarded a prize of $67,000 at one home game. Tickets for the 50/50 lottery are available from more than 30 sellers and eight kiosks located throughout Canadian Tire Centre. Sales start at 5 p.m. while tickets remain available through the conclusion of the second intermission.
The Senators are continuing to remind fans to arrive early and to pack lightly for all games this season, which particularly includes Sunday’s home opener.
As part of the Senators’ efforts to allow fans easy access into the venue, doors will now open two hours before every game, providing fans with an additional 30 minutes to access Canadian Tire Centre. Venue doors will open at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
