by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today the 57-player roster for the 2014-15 training camp and pre-season, presented by Sport Chek and Canadian Tire respectively, which will be held at Canadian Tire Centre (@CdnTireCtr) starting on Thursday, Sept. 18. The Senators training camp roster includes five goaltenders, 19 defencemen and 33 forwards.

Players will report for medicals and physical fitness testing Thursday morning at Canadian Tire Centre, and then move to on-ice testing sessions at the Bell Sensplex on Friday. Friday’s first on-ice testing session at the Bell Sensplex will begin at 8 a.m.

The list of camp invitees is built primarily around the Senators’ draft. Twenty-eight (28) players were selected by Ottawa in NHL drafts, 11 players were signed as free agents, 10 players were obtained in trades, seven players are on professional tryouts and one player is on an amateur tryouts. Twenty-four (24) players appeared in at least one game with the Senators during the 2013-14 season, while another four dressed with other NHL clubs.
