by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Shane Prince on a one-year, two-way contract. The contract will carry an annual value of $700,000 in the National Hockey League and $120,000 in the American Hockey League.

Prince, 22, set professional career highs in all offensive categories last season, including games (72), goals (28), assists (37) and points (65) in his third professional season with the B-Sens. Prince’s 65 points led the B-Sens team.

Prince participated in the AHL All-Star Classic, recording a hat trick in the Eastern Conference’s 14-12 loss to the Western Conference. Following the season, he was named as the left-winger on the AHL’s Second All-Star Team.

On Feb. 15, 2015, Prince was recalled to the NHL for the first time. He went on to make his debut, recording an assist, in Ottawa’s 6-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Prince had one assist in two games before returning to Binghamton for the duration of the season.

The Senators’ second-round pick (61st overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Prince has scored 67 goals, while adding 81 assists for 148 points in 206 career AHL regular-season games, while recording a plus-42. The left-winger spent his junior career split between the Kitchener Rangers and the Ottawa 67’s.
