OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators (@Senators) general manager Bryan Murray announced today the addition of Jonathan Pitre to the team’s professional scouting staff. Pitre, 14, drew the Senators attention in a recent piece in the Ottawa Citizen that showcased his desire to be a scout, his courage and infectious personality.
At 5:30 p.m. tonight, Bryan Murray, along with assistant general managers Pierre Dorion and Randy Lee will formally welcome Pitre to the Senators’ staff by signing a one-day ceremonial contract with the club. Members of the media are welcome to attend the event, which will be held at ice level of Canadian Tire Centre.
Pitre will enjoy a special evening at Canadian Tire Centre tonight while performing his scouting duties, including a tour of the building and the broadcast facilities, while getting to meet a number of special guests. Dorion will also spend a portion of Thursday night’s game with Pitre, focusing their time scouting both the Senators and the Predators.
