by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA – RendezVous LeBreton Group’s IllumiNATION LeBreton proposal, submitted to the National Capital Commission to redevelop LeBreton Flats, will be on public display at Canadian Tire Centre from Thursday, Feb. 4, to Monday, Feb. 8.

“I have been overwhelmed by the amount of public interest and excitement in our IllumiNATION proposal,” said Senators owner Eugene Melnyk. “Many people were unable to attend the two-day public consultation at the War Museum so by inviting people to come to Canadian Tire Centre over the next five days, we hope we are able to give everyone in Ottawa and Gatineau the opportunity to learn about IllumiNATION LeBreton and our vision to make Ottawa an even more vibrant capital city.”

A full display of the proposal, which focuses on accessibility, sustainability and restoring a new community to LeBreton Flats, will be located at section 203 of Canadian Tire Centre (inside Gate 1, the main gates on the south side), the IllumiNATION LeBreton proposal will be open for the public to review the presentation models beginning at tonight’s Senators game and then from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Friday through Monday, with free parking available in the valet lot on the north-east side of Canadian Tire Centre next to Chek Point restaurant.

The IllumiNATION LeBreton proposal will also be on display for patrons attending the Ottawa Senators (@Senators) home games on Thursday, Feb. 4, Saturday, Feb. 6 and Monday, Feb. 8 as well those in attendance for the annual Capital Hoops Classic on Friday, Feb. 5.

During all times the IllumiNATION LeBreton proposal is open for public viewing, members of the RendezVous LeBreton Group will be on site at Canadian Tire Centre and available to answer questions from the visiting public.

The public is encouraged to provide online feedback to the National Capital Commission on the future of LeBreton Flats by going to http://www.ncc-ccn.gc.ca/planning/master-plans/lebreton-flats.

RendezVous LeBreton Group has also activated a website www.illuminationlebreton.ca that will be accessible for the media and general public until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2016, as per the communication rules set by the National Capital Commission.
