OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) officially unveiled its NHL Heritage Classic Jersey today, which will be worn when Ottawa takes on the Vancouver Canucks in the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ that will take place on Sunday, March 2, at BC Place in Vancouver.
The Senators NHL Heritage Classic Jersey celebrates the early-NHL era Senators – four-time Stanley Cup champions in an eight-year span from 1920-27. The sweaters feature historical elements interpreted in a modern look, balancing past with present. The large “O” logo on the front that stands for Ottawa is reminiscent of the design prior to 1934. The red and black stripes on a cream background, borrowed from the ‘Barber Poles’ of past jerseys, is used across the chest, arms and socks.

The Heritage Classic game is a tribute to the 1915 Stanley Cup match where the Vancouver Millionaires (PCHA) faced the Ottawa Senators (NHA). This would be the first time that the champions from both professional leagues (East and West) would face off for the Stanley Cup.
With capacity for more than 50,000, the event will be the largest hockey game in the history of British Columbia. The game will mark the first National Hockey League game to be held in a retractable-roof facility and will be just the third time an NHL regular-season game will take place outdoors in Canada, following the games in Edmonton in 2003 and Calgary in 2011.
The game will be broadcast live on CBC and RDS beginning at 4 p.m. (EST).
