News Release: Ottawa Senators extend partnership with Mattamy Homes

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) and Mattamy Homes announced today that they have extended their partnership through the 2018-19 season. The multi-year renewal will see the local home builder retain its title role as presenting sponsor of the Senators next three National Hockey League seasons in addition to serving as a presenting partner of the team’s 25th anniversary in 2017.

“We’re delighted to renew our partnership with Mattamy Homes,” said Mark Bonneau, the Senators’ senior vice-president of corporate strategy and sales. “Since joining our corporate family eight years ago, our relationship with Mattamy has progressed to the point where we’re often reminded of just how significant it is for our business to partner with a local community leader. As we reflect on 25 years of Senators hockey in 2017, we very much want our top partners, especially those with long tenures in our community, to be a part of what is certain to be a great celebration.”

In addition to remaining the team’s season-presenting sponsor, it was also announced today that Mattamy Homes will serve as one of the Senators premiere presenting sponsors during the team’s 25th anniversary season of 2017. The year-long celebration will feature many special events in recognition of the Senators’ 25 years in the National Hockey League, the NHL centennial, the 125th anniversary of the Stanley Cup and Canada’s 150th birthday.

“Mattamy has a proud history in the Ottawa community, built on an unwavering focus on quality and the customer experience,” said Kevin O’Shea, president of Mattamy’s Ottawa division. “It’s our honour to be able to associate with a brand such as the Ottawa Senators, which shares our values. We are very much looking forward to extending our partnership with the Sens, and sharing in the celebrations of the team’s 25th anniversary.”

Mattamy Homes’ partnership renewal with the Senators will see it continue to use a varied approach to projecting its brand image and messages by way of both the team’s traditional and digital channels in the months ahead. Folllowing the launch of the partnership in 2014, Mattamy witnessed success in reaching fans at Canadian Tire Centre via on-ice (rinkboard), outdoor (marquee) and in-arena (CTC Vision) platforms. Beginning this fall, the builder will also sponsor an in-game social media program for the first time while maintaining its existing support of grass roots hockey and ice sports as a rink sponsor at the Bell Sensplex.
