OTTAWA – Capital Sports Management Inc. (operator of the Bell, Cavanagh and Richcraft Sensplex facilities) is now accepting registrations for each of its nearly 70 camps which compose the lineup for the 2016 Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps, presented by Canadian Tire. After hosting nearly 2,500 beginner to elite-level participants last summer, the Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps begin their 12th season on Monday, July 4, 2016 for a span of nine weeks at the Richcraft Sensplex in Ottawa’s east end, and the Bell Sensplex and Cavanagh Sensplex facilities in Ottawa’s west end.
Participants who register prior to Dec. 19 will receive a bonus Sens Holiday Gift Pack, including an Ottawa Senators mini stick, a toque, a full-team set of hockey cards and a personalized welcome letter from Senators general manager, Bryan Murray.
“Our summer hockey camps are a fantastic Christmas gift option for any young hockey player,” said Sensplex facilities director of hockey programs, Andy Bryan. “The addition of the bonus Sens Holiday Gift Pack provides parents with the opportunity to provide their son or daughter with something to unwrap this Christmas.”
New to the 2016 camp lineup is the Compete Camp, which is designed to provide young players with the skills and confidence needed to win battles and put forth their maximum effort. The lineup also sees expanded options in the fast-growing area of female hockey, such as increased availability of the popular Girls Only Camp and the introduction of a Girls Only Competitive Player Camp. The Sens Goalie Camp led by Ottawa Senators’ goaltending coach Rick Wamsley also returns this year after a one-year hiatus.
The 2016 camp lineup will also continue to include unique Senators experiences, apparel, and special guests. Last year’s camps featured appearances by players and alumni including Marc Methot, Chris Neil, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Mark Stone, Kyle Turris, Patrick Wiercioch, Ryan Dzingel, Matt O'Connor, Shaun Van Allen, Laurie Boschman, Todd White and Jason York.
With an exceptionally-trained staff led by a team of hockey program and skill development experts, all camps offer a fun, safe, and supportive environment designed to help each player improve his or her abilities, whether it’s pushing elite players to their limits or helping beginners learn the fundamentals of the game.
