News Release: Canadian Tire Centre transforms food and beverage experience for fans

by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today, in partnership with Aramark Sports & Entertainment, several food and beverage changes that will improve the fan experience at Canadian Tire Centre. All of these changes are separate from the creation of Club Bell, the arena’s new exclusive club.

The highlights of the changes include significant upgrades with Sens partners Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza and Smoke’s, and will also debut the Farm Boy Fresh Zone, as part of the Senators new partnership with the area’s premier fresh food provider.

As part of this transformation, there have been upgrades to 20 different concession stands, the largest renovation since the building was opened in 1996. All updated concessions include adaptations to meet the new Province of Ontario accessibility standards for patrons in wheelchairs.

Farm Boy and the Farm Boy Fresh Zone

One of two new food concepts to debut this season, the Senators are proud to introduce Farm Boy as the official fresh food partner at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Farm Boy Fresh Zone, located in Section 210/211, will feature artisan wraps, signature salads, fresh soups, authentic sushi and more, all made from scratch every day in the Farm Boy Kitchen. The Farm Boy Fresh Zone line-up includes many Farm Boy customer favourites like the popular Chicken Caesar Wrap, made with fresh chicken, Caesar dressing and double smoked bacon.

The Farm Boy Fresh Zone will be open for the Senators’ home opener on Sunday, Oct. 11, and responds to a growing ask from Canadian Tire Centre patrons to have more wholesome, fresh and local food options when attending Ottawa Senators games.

Tim Hortons coffee

As part of the concession upgrades, there has been a significant expansion of the Tim Hortons partnership inside of Canadian Tire Centre.

In response to fan demand, Tim Hortons coffee will now be available at 14 different locations in the arena, up from three locations last season. The increased availability of Tim Hortons coffee offers another significant improvement for fans, making it much more convenient for Sens fans to get their favourite Tim Hortons hot beverages.

Smoke’s Burritorie

Expanding on the successful relationship with Smoke’s Poutinerie, which has been one of Canadian Tire Centre’s top sellers since launching in the 2012-13 season, Smoke’s Burritorie will feature burritos that showcase Smoke’s unique twist. This food option will fill another niche in the food line-up at Canadian Tire Centre, responding to our fans push for creative dining options when attending Senators games and events.

Pizza Pizza

Long-time Sens partner Pizza Pizza is completely overhauling its three locations inside the arena to better serve fans. Pizza Pizza is consistently the building’s most popular menu item, selling in excess of 2,000 slices of pizza per Senators game.

Additional capital upgrades to enhance fan experience

In addition to the food and beverage changes, there have been several upgrades inside the building that will add to the overall experience. One example is that audio feeds have been added to the 200-level food courts that will allow Sens fans to stay connected to the on-ice action while they stop for a snack or a beverage.

The food court has also been overhauled to change the branding and feel, helping fans to continue the Senators brand experience throughout their visit to Canadian Tire Centre.

The Senators 2014 commitment to improve and resurface all of the parking lots at Canadian Tire Centre before the 2015-16 season has been realized this summer. In total, more than 25,000 tons of asphalt has been used to resurface the parking lots since the summer of 2014.

The ongoing upgrades reinforce the Senators continued commitment to enhancing the fan experience at Canadian Tire Centre and address specific suggestions from Sens fans for healthier and more creative options, more local partners and shorter line-ups for their favorite items.

Club Bell

The ongoing construction of the Senators new all-inclusive experience, Club Bell, continues through September. With its special one-way valet, custom seating and an all-new menu, Club Bell with completely transform Ottawa’s definition of the premium fan experience. A comprehensive update on Club Bell will come as the season nears. For more information on Club Bell, click here.
