Milan Michalek broke the goose egg in the goals column on Sunday night and netted the Sens' first shorthanded goal of the season in the process as he had the lone Ottawa tally in a 2-1 loss to Chicago.
He offered his thoughts on getting his first of the season after the game.
"It was a great pass from Chiasson, it was pretty easy for me. I'm happy I got it and hopefully they keep them coming now," said Michalek. "It feels great, that's why you play hockey is to score goals and try to win the game. It's a lot of fun."
Michalek also offered his thoughts on the game as a whole and suggested that the Sens may have been guilty of playing too passive, while adding praise for Craig Anderson's performance.
"I think we gave them a little bit too much respect tonight. We gave them lots of room to move around. Andy was unbelievable tonight, he kept us in the game pretty much the whole game. It was good that we came back in the third and had some chances to tie the game."
