Senators forward Max McCormick played his first game in a Sens uniform on Sunday night and made the most of it, recording a pair of goals and a fight in a 6-2 Ottawa win over Toronto. Here's what he had to say about his debut...
On his debut:
It was a lot of fun, coach stressed how much he wanted us to compete tonight. It's always a rivalry with the Leafs and you always want to beat them. It was an exciting first game for me and I had a lot of fun.
On playing with Dzingel:
We were joking about it today, we've been playing together the last three years but we've never actually played on a line together so that was a little different for us. I have known him for the past three and a half years so that makes it a little bit easier for us and we talk a little bit more out there.
On that familiarity helping the chemistry:
He's a great player, he's easy to play with and he has great speed. I think the number one thing when you're jumping in with new guys is to communicate and let each other know where you are and that helps the most.
On his goal for the tournament:
I just wanted to play my role and step in and compete and help the team win.
