Prior to making his NHL preseason debut, we caught up with Sens prospect Tobias Lindberg to talk line-mates, opportunities and more...
On getting back to playing in games again:
Even though it was a short summer for me, I missed hockey. It was fun to play in the rookie tournament in London last weekend but it will be fun to play with some of the guys here tonight.
Playing on a line tonight with Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur:
You get butterflies before going on the ice with those guys. As I said to the other guys, you've got to stay calm and just realize that it's not that big of a deal or you'll be nervous. I just want to go out there and give it 100%.
Tonight as an opportunity to show management what he can do:
You don't know how many games you get and which players you get to play with so I want to show that I can not only keep up with these guys but play with them. It'll be a good opportunity for me.
On how he sees his role on a line with Turris and MacArthur:
It'll be hard because we've never played with each other before but I don't want to just be in the background. I want to be a leading player because I don't think I'll get a better opportunity to show myself than tonight so I'm not just going to be in the background.
On showcasing some of the improvements he's made over the offseason tonight:
I think that they know that I like to play offense and a high-scoring game but also that I can play a two-way game. I'll be strong on pucks, get it out when I need to and make smart decisions.
