Game Day Notes: Game #5 - Sens vs. Wild
by Craig Medaglia @craigmedaglia / Ottawa Senators
It's a 1 p.m. start on Thanksgiving Monday and we've got the latest pre-game news and notes before the puck drops against the Minnesota Wild at Canadian Tire Centre.
Projected line-up
Sens head coach D.J. Smith just wrapped up his morning media availability where he was able to pass along some line-up info ahead of today's early start. Artem Anisimov, who left Saturday's game with an injury, will be a game-time decision for the Senators today so watch for that info to drop a little closer to the opening face-off. In his absence this weekend, Jean-Gabriel Pageau bumped up to centre Vladislav Namestnikov and Connor Brown on the third line and the trio showed instant chemistry combining for 6 points (3G, 3A) in their 4-2 win against the Lightning.
Depending on Anisimov's availability today, one or both of Nick Paul and Jordan Szwarz could draw into the line-up today. The pair were recalled from Belleville this morning where Paul currently sits tied for second in team scoring with 4 points (1G, 3A) in 3 GPs and Szwarz has yet to record a point yet early in the season.
With no morning skate and a few questions still to answer after warm-up, here's a look at how the forwards and defence could look today...
Tkachuk - White - Ennis
Duclair - Tierney - Ryan
Namestnikov - Anisimov (game-time decision) - Brown
Paul/Szwarz/Boedker - Pageau - Sabourin
Chabot - Zaitsev
Brannstrom - Hainsey
Borowiecki - DeMelo
In goal
Craig Anderson (1-2-0) is back between the pipes today as he looks to build off of a strong showing against the Lightning on Saturday. Anderson turned aside 19 of the 21 shots that Tampa Bay sent his way en route to locking down the Sens' first win of 2019-20.
