Game Day 5: Sens vs Flyers

by Craig Medaglia / Ottawa Senators

Here are 5 things you need to know before tonight's game as the Sens get set to face the Philadelphia Flyers.

1. Line-up

Some line-up notes for tonight...

  • The coach confirmed that the only expected line-up change for tonight is Jared Cowen checking back in for the Patrick Wiercioch who sustained a lower body injury on Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
  • As a result of Wiercioch's injury, defenseman Mike Kostka has been recalled and it appears that he'll join the Sens on their upcoming road trip.
  • Bobby Ryan, who was also injured against Columbus, appears to be st to play tonight's game after participating in this morning's skate. We'll update you with any more info should it become available.

2. Goalies

Craig Anderson is set to make his 4th start in a row tonight against the Flyers. Andy has stopped 91 of the 96 shots he's faced over the past 3 games including all 25 against Columbus on Thursday. Matt O'Connor once again serves as the back-up.

Steve Mason will get the start (his 5th in a row) for the Flyers.

3. Last meeting

These two teams last faced off against each other on the final day of the 2014-15 season back on April 11th in Philadelphia with the Sens earning a clutch 3-1 win. Mark Stone led the way offensively with a pair of goals including probably the most Mark Stone goal ever to seal the game late in the third period.
