Game Day 5: Sens @ Avalanche

by Craig Medaglia / Ottawa Senators

The Sens are in Denver tonight set to face the Avalanche and we've got 5 things to help you get ready for puck drop.

1. Line-up

Some line-up notes for tonight...

  • No line-up changes tonight. It was an optional skate this morning so we're going to assume that means the Sens will roll with the same lines as well.

Here's a look at the Sens projected line-up for tonight...

2. Goalies

Craig Anderson once again gets the call for the Sens after another stellar outing last night in Dallas. The coach was asked about the teams current goaltender situation and his comfort level with using Anderson in back-to-back road games...

I think it's a situation where if Hammond was healthy he'd be playing but you talk to Andy either last year or this year and the more work he gets, he says he likes it. You look at other teams and they have goalies run 60+ games so due to the injuries I'm quite comfortable with Andy going back-to-back.

At the other end, it's expected that Semyon Varlamov will start in goal for the Avalanche.

3. Last meeting

These two teams last faced off back on January 8th, 2015 in Denver with the Avalanche earning a 5-2 win. Mark Stone and Bobby Ryan notched the goals for the Sens in defeat.

You can watch the full highlights from the game below...

4. Stat Corner

When you score 7 goals the night before, some cool stats are going to come out. Here's a recap of a bunch of them thanks to @Media_Sens on Twitter...

5. Broadcast

Tonight's game will be available on TSN5 and RDS as well as on the radio at TSN 1200. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m.
