Former Ottawa Senators forward Zack Smith has announced his retirement.

Smith, who confirmed his decision to The Athletic, spent 11 seasons with the Sens and ranks ninth all-time in games played for the franchise with 612.
The Maple Creek, Sask., native scored 94 goals for Ottawa and added 99 assists. He notched a career high 25 goals during the 2015-16 season to go along with a career best 36 point campaign.
Furthemore, he played 45 NHL playoff games tallying two goals and nine points.
The 33-year-old was selected in the third round (79th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft by Ottawa. Smith was part of Binghamton's 2010-11 Calder Cup winning squad where he had 20 points in 23 playoff games.
Smith's 693 penalty minutes with the Sens are the third most in franchise history.
He played his 12th and final NHL season in 2019-20 with Chicago. Smith concludes his NHL career with 204 points (98 goals) in 662 games.
