Foligno has a country heart

by Rob Brodie / Ottawa Senators
Nick Foligno is a country music fan at heart.

So it’s no surprise that the Ottawa Senators forward thinks Brad Paisley and Valentine’s Day are a perfect match.

Needless to say that if Foligno wasn’t otherwise occupied on Saturday night – he and the Senators are slated to face off against the Wild in St. Paul, Minn. – he would be among the first in line to catch The Paisley Party 2009 tour at Scotiabank Place. He’d consider it a great Valentine’s Day date with his girlfriend, Janelle Forest.

“She already has tickets for it,” said Foligno. “I love country music, so I would have taken her for sure. It would have been a lot of fun.”

Foligno has been a long-time fan of Paisley, the West Virginia-born country crooner who has produced a huge string of No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

“I just like the way he is out there,” said Foligno. “He’s got a great voice, first of all, and he’s pretty talented with his instruments. I’ve heard all his songs and they’ve pretty much all been hits. I’d like to see him live for sure.”

Tickets are still available for both the Paisley Party show and the Sunday appearance of the So You Think You Can Dance Canada Tour 2009, both set for 7:30 p.m. starts. They can be purchased at the arena box office or by logging on to
